Loading times were also nearly instantaneous in both modes, including starting the game . Forza Horizon 5 was only in development for one additional year over previous entries in the franchise, but enjoys such a massive leap in quality that it feels like it must've taken much longer.

Allowing you to explore fictionalised Mexican landscapes by car, users can drive hundreds of the world's greatest vehicles with complete freedom. Whether undergoing challenges, embarking on an expedition or racing other players, you can enjoy customising your races, stunts, cars and more. On Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, the framerate is capped at 30fps at the highest graphical fidelity, but whether you choose graphics or performance mode the experience is equally spectacular. Whether you're driving, photographing, or customizing them, they look pure perfection from every angle.

Each vehicle reacts differently and realistically to the environment, and they also provide a contrasting driving experience dependent on the weather. The controller rumbles dynamically to match the different styles of track, immersing you in the experience of being on the road. Similar multiplayer content from previous games will be included, allowing players to partake in a variety of street races.

With just over 30 hours in Forza Horizon 5 at the time of writing, I still haven't even finished a third of what's available right now. It would probably take me at least 100 hours to 100% Forza Horizon 5 if I wanted to, and that's not even considering the replayability of everything in the game, especially the online portions. The animations for first-person driving, for example, don't look amazing, which is unfortunate considering the huge improvements to character creation. Role-playing gamers will be disappointed by the continued lack of options for turn signals, headlights, and turning the engine on and off, even if the addition of convertibles and race modes is a huge gain. There's also no 900-degree steering in first-person view, something that players have been requesting for years.

Despite these missing features, I still had a blast playing Forza Horizon 5 the entire time. Forza Horizon 5 includes over 500 cars across a wide range of driving disciplines, including road racing, cross country, drifting, and mud racing. With so many options, it's hard to tell which vehicle is the nicest in Forza Horizon 5 – yet there isn't a single solution. Customizing and upgrading a vintage microcar into a drag racing rocket, or a delivery van into an S2-class race car, is part of the thrill in the game.

Each week, Forza Horizon 5 will cycle through four seasons, each with its own climate. Seasons offer new seasonal racing contests and PR activities , as well as numerous other time assignments like weekly Forzathon. Seasons will start after you've completed your first Horizon Adventure – Apex, Wilds, or Baja – and you'll be able to check the current season on the Festival Playlist screen.

It's meant to be the highlight of a region — and unlocks a new festival site in turn.

Firstly, there is the choice between the standard edition of the game and the premium one, which offers a plethora of early game unlocks and promised expansion packs, but costs almost twice the price. Whether you're struggling to find the rare cars hidden in various barns across the map, or you want the latest kooky sounding horn or wacky emote, Forza Horizon 5 has the in-game shop for you. Many can be unlocked via gameplay and chance, but you're certainly encouraged to pay upfront to unlock your favorite in-game items.

Highlights here include the accessibility menu, offering subtitling and colorblind-friendly gameplay, and a wide range of difficulty options that allow you to adjust everything to your preference. There are even extensive tuning options for every vehicle, so you can get them to drive just the way you want them to. Outside of the menus, you're spoilt for choice – to open up cross-country tracks, or road-racing, to finish story missions or excel on one type of track; it's all down to you. The first thing you'll notice when launched into the world of Forza Horizon 5 is just how vast the map is.

Despite taking place all in one region, the game blends together 11 different habitats; from ancient cities to modern citadels, sleepy beaches to active volcanoes, each road you drive down provides something new to see. Gameplay is broken up into six different styles of racing, including dirt tracks, street racing and PR stunts, so you can select missions depending on your preferred style of ride. Forza Horizon 5 also features a brand-new weather system, where players will be able to experience different climates in different parts of the country. Additionally, you are also introduced to the Horizon Arcade, where you can play a series of mini-multiplayer games spread across the map.

So If you'd prefer to leave the races behind and focus on exploration, creative portions like liveries, PR Stunts, or anything else, Forza Horizon 5 will still ensure you're rewarded for your time and effort. Even better, Accolades continue after you reach the Hall of Fame, giving players continued rewards for playing and trying new things. There's even a Hall of Fame leaderboard, where players can compete to earn the most number of Accolades with friends or other players.

Once you get past how bloody gorgeous Forza Horizon 5 is, you sort of have to play the game. For those who have played past Forza Horizon games, this one should be familiar. You're let loose in an expansive open world filled with dozens of events, challenges, races, and more. It's up to you to figure out where to go, what to do, and what to drive. Forza Horizon 5 feels great to play for those who enjoy that kind of freedom, and it's exactly why it isn't just another racing game.

I love the update to the barn finds where you actually deliver the car to the location, such a great little detail. The voice acting given to the main character is also a nice touch, as well as the improved motion blur and haptic feedback system. It truly adds back that feeling of speed that I've been missing in Horizon 4, found in Forza Motorsport 7. Forza Horizon 5 was one of Microsoft's biggest updates at Gamescom 2021, with more information revealed about both gameplay and cars.

With details on Mexico's map, biomes, features, and that all-elusive release date, there's lots to get excited about. This was one of the most interesting features of Forza Horizon 5's multiplayer for me, presenting you with a ton of different minigames that range from speed-based challenges to simply smashing piñatas. These minigames appear all over the map, and anyone can automatically join. Some may lament that Forza Horizon 5 doesn't require players to start as a "nobody" and work their way through the ranks with terrible cars and no connections, but that's not the kind of game it wants to be.

This is the ultimate sandbox for anyone with even a passing interest in exploring a giant beautiful world, unleashing their creative tendencies, or racing in meticulously rendered vehicles. You enter Forza Horizon 5 as the "superstar of Horizon UK" from Forza Horizon 4, and it's up to you to carve your own Horizon Aventure. Like Forza Horizon 4, Playground recorded the real sky on location for hundreds of hours and handpicked the best bits, stitching everything together to achieve the majesty of the game's sky. This means it naturally evolves over time, with rolling cloud coverage that changes depending on where you are. The new tropical storms and dynamic weather events look beautiful and even a little intimidating, with a real sense of depth and scale that many games lack.

After building to a season finale centered around Kevin's wedding to Madison, the current timeline ends with Madison calling off the wedding after forcing Kevin to confront the fact that he is in love with the family they've created, but not with her. And that's the general tone this episode strikes across the board. This Is Us tends to save its most dramatic cliffhangers for its midseason finales, rather than its season-enders. And a lot of "The Adirondacks" is a fairly light, almost madcap comedy punctuated by moments of reconciliation. Beth and Tess break through their communication issues and share a lovely mother/daughter bonding moment as Beth helps Tess modify her wedding attire to fit her newfound style. And Rebecca begins the process of making amends to Randall for hiding William from him and never giving him space to discuss his feelings about his birth parents. This Is Us won't be returning for its sixth and final season until midseason next year, but with the storylines that have already been planted in the Season 5 finale, expect it to be an emotional ride.

And hopefully, like Justin Hartley wants, Kevin and Randall's relationship stays steady. The first five seasons of This Is Us are streaming on Hulu. NBC's hit family drama is wrapping up its run with its sixth year, but despite this, expect a series of plot twists — something that the show has become known for throughout its broadcast.

The commentary from the cast in the aforementioned video is intercut with scenes from the past seasons of This Is Us and the montage mostly focuses on the Pearson characters. With the amount of dangling threads this finale opens up, I have no idea whatThis Is Us' final season is going to look like. We've now got three major flash-forward timelines to work towards, including a lot of teases in that five-year jump. In addition to Kate's wedding, we learn Kevin has fulfilled his dad's dream of launching Big Three Homes, Nicky has a wife, and Randall has been dubbed a "rising star" by a swanky New Yorker profile. I'm assuming next season will largely focus on those threads, and I'm wondering if it might be set across a longer period of time than the show's usual year-in-the-life mode. It's an effective twist because This Is Us has trained us to expect flash-forwards to either Rebecca's deathbed or Baby Jack's future in its finales.

Plus "The Adirondacks" makes a point of selling the wholesome, supportive nature of Kate and Toby's marriage, as they briefly try to "Gift Of The Magi" each other over his new job in San Francisco. In fact, one of my big complaints about this episode was going to be that it resolved Kate and Toby's marital issues way too easily after a season of deep communication issues. But, as is frequently the case, it turns out This Is Us has a longer, more unexpected endgame in mind. Sometime in the next few years, Kate and Toby's present day happiness gives way to a whole new relationship for her. Suddenly it makes a lot more sense why Toby seems so lonely in the Rebecca's deathbed timeline.

After getting pregnant during a one-night stand with Kevin, Madison gave birth to twins Frances and Nicholas (named after "Uncle Nicky"). Kevin then proposed to Madison, wanting to fully commit to his new family. Hours before the ceremony, Madison realized that Kevin didn't love her. He insisted that their love could grow, but the two realized they weren't on the same page and called off the wedding.

The season finale's flash-forward hinted Kevin and Madison could get back together. But if nothing else, they seemed to be on friendly terms in the scene, which takes place about five years in the future. Ever since the shocking time-jump finale of season three, a seed had been planted that Kate and Toby might split up in the future. That sad outcome for one of the couples at the heart of the show was confirmed in the final, time-jumping scene, as Kate is shown readying to marry a man that viewers barely know, her new boss Phillip . NBC revealed that This Is Us wouldn't return for its sixth and final season until midseason, which meant a 2022 premiere date. Even though this means a long hiatus, NBC said that the final season would be a "largely uninterrupted run." The final season will consist of 18 episodes.

We really love the actress we found to play the daughter, Adelaide as you said, and obviously we've really Blake, who plays Jack Jr. as a character. So our hope is to continue to make people invested in these future storylines by getting into the characters slowly, as we've done, so that by the time you're really landing in full stories with them, if we do, you feel that great investment. In terms of the balance between the future storylines and the past...We've parsed out the shape enough that we will never run out of the past flashbacks that inform the present. Milo will always be in the show, Young Rebecca and younger versions of the kids will always be in the show. But we do the plan is to kind of tilt into different timelines that go past our present day a little bit more as we move forward.

It's hard to believe that we're so close to the end of the smash-hit NBC drama starring Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz and Justin Hartley. In just 18 episodes, we'll all learn what's really going on in that famous flash-forward scene and what the future holds for the Big Three.

In an episode revealing more of Nicky's backstory, viewers learned he'd fallen in love with a woman named Sally as a teen. Before their romance could really begin, young Nicky backed out of a road trip they'd planned to California, thus ending their relationship. As an adult, he began looking for Sally online, and by the time Kate and Phillip's wedding day arrives, he has a wife.

But it's unclear if that wife is Sally or someone else. However, Nicky finally made it to California in the present day after Kevin named one of the twins after him – and a little help from Cassidy . Then at the end of season 5, Nicky searched for "Sally Brooks" online, seemingly indicating that he will try to find her in the sixth season. The fifth season finale also confirmed that Nicky has a wife by the time Kate marries Phillip. Finally, the last season will reveal the show's conclusion, which Fogelman has had planned for quite some time now. He told THR that he has thought of "images of scenes and lines of dialogue" that he eventually wants to bring to life.

Finally, a Season 5 guest star has been promoted to series regular to the final season — Chris Geere, who plays Kate's boss turned love interest Phillip . With a crazy twist ending at the end of the finale, as well as the popular series confirmed to be ending after Season 6, it's safe to say that fans have the Pearson family on their minds. It's obviously a challenging chapter for Rebecca, moving forward. We have a big storyline planned for Mandy in the next upcoming season in present day, as an older woman, and also her past timelines. Particularly, it's an opportunity for us when we land in St. Louis with her Miguel. So often they operate as a couple in service of the larger family.

When you see them together, it's because the entire family's there and has storylines. But here's an opportunity where we're going to be joining them in a location together, kind of, together, as they kind of undergo this that they didn't necessarily plan on trying. With both of them questioning the relationship, it's definitely hard to get excited about the wedding in the upcoming season finale. The cliff-hanger in the last minutes of the final episode is lame beyond description. I should have gone with my gut and quit after season 4.

This Is Us Season 5 The first 3 seasons were solid, but from 4 onwards the quality of the writing just decreased. They traded believable characters and well thought out story lines for cringe worthy artificial drama. This is my favourite show of all times and I was so looking forward to watching the new Season to escape the current doom and gloom ....

Well, the opening episode has NO new storyline or development whatsoever and instead it is all about reminding us of the Pandemic and BLM issues in the most forced and tedious way. These are irrelevant to the continuation of the previous plots, they feel completely forced into the storyline and all is very poorly acted. Over the last 4 seasons none of the current affairs were written into the script because it is mostly time-independent with present day, flash-backs and flash-forwards all intertwined.

To top it all off my favourite character, Randall, has now become selfish, arrogant and wallowing in self-pity. I really really do hope the writers correct this trajectory as I can't bear to say bye to the Big Three. How does this guy go from being such a favourite in earlier seasons, to being so selfish, annoying and arrogant? Or was he this the whole time and the initial episodes were too superficial? His character is the most organic of the three; he is never shown as being quick-witted in flashbacks - even at college.

He is portrayed as very studious, anxious and a people pleaser. While these traits remain in adult life, his wit is one of his biggest throughlines; when did this appear? We've seen the characters get older, yet he is never cracking jokes, puns or making people laugh. In the time jump, Randall is shown being profiled by a magazine as a "Rising Star," uncle Nicky references a "wife" and Beth is a bridesmaid for Kate, along with Madison. When speaking about the new seeds that have been planted heading into the final season — which will capture the 41st year of life for the Big Three — Fogelman called out Brown and Moore in particular as other big storylines ahead.

Rebecca's Alzheimer's continued to progress throughout Season 5. She admitted to her kids that she didn't know how much time she had left, but wanted to make the most of her remaining days. To prevent Kevin from drinking to cope with his failed engagement, Rebecca asked him to build her the house Jack had designed for her before his untimely death.

Thanks to time jumps, viewers know that Rebecca will spend her final days in the house where Kevin lives with his children and still-unidentified wife in the future. The flash-forward to Kate's wedding showed Randall in a New Yorker profile dubbing him a "rising star," but it remains to be seen if that's due to his work in the political arena. Meanwhile, Beth had to close her dance studio amid the coronavirus pandemic, but the future timeline revealed that the setback won't end her dream for good.

We're definitely all going to take a long nap after this last season. But I think definitely those two periods are periods we're going to spend more time in. Obviously one was just established, but the other one has been used more for answers to questions, but we haven't lived there a lot. We'll be doing more of that in this upcoming season, which is always the plan, as opposed to having maybe three or four past story lines in one episode, we could wind up with episodes that have two or three or four future and present story lines. Elsewhere in the hour, Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Rebecca experienced healing in their conversation about his perspective-shifting trip to New Orleans to learn about his birth mother. NBC confirmed to TVLine that its final season will air "mid-season" — in other words, it'll premiere in early 2022, instead of September of 2021, without that mid-season hiatus.
